Message from the Headteacher
It’s been another busy two weeks here at Alexandra. We have celebrated NSPCC Number Day, Children’s Mental Health Week and Safer Internet Day. Year Four had a successful trip to the British Museum and Year One have started their Forest School sessions at Alexandra Palace.
We also selected the winners of our values competition and have begun to work on the designs for the four animal characters that will represent our four values of Curiosity, Courage, Responsibility and Kindness. Thanks to all the children who entered the competition and artist Jo Gold. We look forward to sharing the characters with you soon.
It was a pleasure to see many of you at Parent’s Evening on Thursday; thank you to all that attended, your support is so important. If you didn’t manage to see your child’s teacher, please speak to them directly or call the school office to arrange a time to meet. Happy half term and see you all on Monday 24th February.
What's been happening this week?
Children's Mental Health Week
This year, Children's Mental Health Week focussed on Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.
Children’s Mental Health Week encourages children, young people and adults to embrace self-awareness and explore what it means to them. This will help them grow and develop resilience to cope with what life throws at them.
A huge thank you to Ms Lopez for her assembly highlighting the importance of looking after ourselves!
Safer Internet Day 2025
Safer Internet Day was a great success this week! We kicked off with an engaging assembly led by our Computing Lead, Mr. Smyth, where children learned about the importance of staying safe online.
On the day itself, pupils took part in a range of activities designed to help them think critically about their online presence, understand digital responsibility, and develop strategies to stay safe while using the internet. Discussions, interactive lessons and creative projects helped reinforce key messages about online safety.
Thank you to everyone who participated in making this an informative and impactful event!
Internet Safety Parents' Workshop
Thank you to all the parents who attended our Internet Safety Workshop. It was a great session with valuable discussions on how to keep children safe online. Parents explored practical strategies for managing screen time, setting parental controls and having open conversations about online safety.
We appreciate your engagement and look forward to continuing to work together to support our children in navigating the digital world safely.
Thank you to Mr Smyth for hosting this workshop.
