Black History Month
During October the whole school joined in the preparations for Black History month and our celebration of “carnival.” The children made fantastic masks, colourful headresses and lanterns. We danced to Soca and carnival rhythms with Lyric L and everyone had a great time. Some of the children also learnt about the origins of the Notting Hill Carnival, now in its 50th year! The event culminated in a carnival procession with all the children showing off their creations.

Later that afternoon we had our International Food Fair. The weather was good and the food was fantastic. Our families were very generous and brought in some fantastic home-cooked and traditional dishes and though the queues were huge, there was plenty to go around.
Thank you to everyone who donated a dish. It was a great afternoon. We made £217, which the children will decide how to spend in the coming weeks
